2009 crop figures…
India produced 978.9 million kilos of tea and exported 191.4 million kilos of tea in 2009 – which is lower than 2008 on both counts and much lower than China’s production of 1240 million kilos and exported 297 million kilos in 2008 itself and reportedly is higher in 2009.

中印红茶又聚首
十大杯红茶一字排开，六杯为武夷山红茶，四杯为印度红茶。昨日，武夷山元正茶叶公司的展位前，中印红茶再次聚首，续写红茶交流新故事。
武夷山正山小种是世界红茶的鼻祖，印度红茶源于正山小种。今年4月，印度红茶专家罗禅到武夷山正山小种发源地桐木寻根，今年10月，中印红茶第一次联手在北京国际茶业博览会亮相，这次是第二次聚首。
代理进口印度红茶的北京东篱田园国际贸易公司业务代表王小兰告诉记者，这次是受元正公司邀请来茶博会的，是为了展示悠久的茶文化，推广红茶。
“罗禅本来准备来参加这次茶博会的，但由于家里有事，所以很遗憾不能前来。但他说，争取明年的清明节再来武夷山，他想看看中国红茶采摘的情况。”元正公司销售代表表示，对下次的印度红茶之行很是期待。

Dan Robertson in India…
Dan Robertson, a renowened tea merchant and World Tea Tour’s operator from Chicago, USA, was with us from 30th November to 7th December 2009 to attend Ankit’s wedding. On 6th December 2009 night we honoured him from CII over dinner in Sinclairs where he enlightened a gathering of tea people about US tea market.
