My host in Shizhouka…
Tatsuo Sano, a very handsome and young person, is going to be my friend, host and guide who will lead and introduce me to Japanese tea industry from 5th to 8th March 2010. Another of my tea brother, Dan Robertson’s connection.
2009 crop figures…
India produced 978.9 million kilos of tea and exported 191.4 million kilos of tea in 2009 – which is lower than 2008 on both counts and much lower than China’s production of 1240 million kilos and exported 297 million kilos in 2008 itself and reportedly is higher in 2009.

Shimada: the tea growing area of Shizhouka…
On 6th & 7th March 2010 I am destined to be in this area where a tea growing family will host me to show me around. Though it will be little early to witness harvest and tea manufacture but a firm impression will certainly be made.
